The people who lost children and other loved ones in the Texas floods are owed honest answers from officials. They should be told why flash flood warnings issued hours earlier were not conveyed to people in the path of the water. They don’t need more prayers from politicians. They need answers.

For anyone confused, FEMA is overseen by DHS, and their function is 90% planning and preparedness, not just showing up to hand you a check. Natural disasters happen. When leaders don’t plan, fund, or take preparedness seriously, the consequences are far worse. That’s the point.

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%. 

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

Ironic, isn’t it?

The President could deploy troops to help disaster recovery efforts from devastating storms, but instead he sends them to Los Angels to chase fry cooks and landscapers.

Medicare for All - "That's socialism!"

Debt free education - "That's socialism!"

Universal childcare - "That's socialism!"

Absolutely. Take back the pensions and health care for the Legislature and Administration that they deem unnecessary for us, their employers.

On July 4, 1776, thirteen American colonies declared their independence from a predatory king. On July 4th, 2025, we now have a President who acts like one. This July 4th, let’s remember that we should keep fighting to make this country always more free and fair for all.

That’s a shame. I’m sorry.
