Toxic Systems: From Family to Corporations to Governments Toxic systems operate with frightening similarity. In all, power is protected over people. Truth is suppressed in favor of image. And scapegoats - whether a child an employee or an entire population - are created to absorb blame that the system refuses to own. In a toxic family, a child who speaks the truth may be labeled "the problem." In a toxic government, immigrants, journalists, or protestors are often cast as enemies. This isn't about truth - it's about control. It's about maintaining a fragile illusion of strength by silencing difference and suppressing dissent. We've seen this dynamic play out on the national stage, especially under leaders like Donald Trump, whose governing style mirrors narcissistic patterns: a grandiose self-image, a refusal to take accountability, and a deep need to vilify others in order to feel powerful. This isn't leadership - it's emotional manipulation on a national scale. But we are not powerless. We protect liberty and justice the same way we protect our personal integrity: • By naming truth, even when it's inconvenient. • By refusing to dehumanize others for the comfort of the dominant narrative. • By rejecting leaders who rely on scapegoating, fear, and cruelty. • By voting, organizing, and standing in solidarity with the most vulnerable. This country will remain thr land of the free so long as it is the home of the brave.

Because “Make America Great Again” is about bringing back every racist, regressive, oppressive system this country has fought to move past.if we’re not willing to challenge that mindset around the grill with Grandma, how are we going to challenge it in the streets, the courts, or the halls of power?

Rationalizing the truth with them is bullshit. It doesnt work and its a waste of time. Those people will always pull the victim card about their privilege and how they are somehow being robbed of something inconsequential to their needs. They dont give a damn about who they hurt with their greed.

A friend said something like: we talk about standing up to oligarchy and authoritarianism, yet we still go to the July 4th BBQ with MAGA Grandma like that’s some kind of contradiction.
But it’s not. We’re here to be the change we wish to see in the world and that includes being the change with MAGA.

You beat a bully by staring them down with courage and discipline. You don’t give them the violent reaction they’re baiting. We fight back with active strategy through civil disobedience, mass protests, strikes, and refusing to comply with injustice. That’s real power.

The crackpot wanna-be despot and his cronies love to make hateful and derogatory statements about their political opponent. Their goal is to infuriate so people act ragefully. Then they can claim victimhood and use any weapons at their disposal to actually hurt people. Don't enable them.

The Founders were flawed. So are we. But that’s not failure. That’s humanity. And it means we will keep learning, evolving, and building a better democracy
