04.02.2026 20:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think I went a bit too hard with this documentation thing...
Fully custom canvas based UI with scrolling, text wrapping and optimized draw calls, using Aseprite's API

Alright, thatβs it for today!
Once again, I apologize for the extended wait. I know many of you have been eager to get your hands on Asemulator.
Feel free to ask any questions you have here π
Happy New Year, and see you in 2026!

Compared to the free one, paid templates will include most features you can think of:
Highly customizable actions for all kinds of animations, βRPG-likeβ tile-based movement, wall jumps, ledge grabs, and many more features!
More info on these before the big release.
10/11 π§΅
Additionally, for one week after release, the prices for each template and the pack will be reduced to $6.99 and $9.99 respectively!
Make sure to follow this account so you donβt miss out on the opportunity π
9/11π§΅
Asemulator and the Platformer template will remain available for free.
The Top-down and Side-scroller templates will be available for $7.99 each.
A pack including both paid templates will be available for $11.99 (i.e. the second template is 50% off).

3) I need to take care of some paperwork and boring administrative stuff on my side, in order to sell Asemulator.
Boring stuff overall, so I won't bother going into the details hahaha
Speaking of money, hereβs the plan for Asemulatorβs pricing:
7/11π§΅
2) Most of the documentation is still missing.
Now that Asemulator is filled with features, there needs to be a reliable source of information covering everything thatβs available.
This also includes working on example sprites, which are the best way to get started!
6/11π§΅
In short, Iβll need some time to make small adjustments and integrate them, improving the user experience as much as possible.
Big shoutouts to the @aseprite dev team for working on those!
5/11π§΅
1) Asepriteβs API has improved significantly since my last post, and now include a few very important and needed features.
While some are still missing from the official stable version, itβs only a matter of time before they become available (likely around January).
4/11π§΅
I know I previously said Iβd release it before the end of 2025, but everything isnβt quite ready yet! Sorry about that π
So whatβs still missing? Basically, three things:
3/11π§΅
First of all, Asemulator is officially feature complete! Which basically means it's ready for release.
Of course, there are still plenty of small improvements to make and surely some hidden bugs to fix, but those can wait until after the big release hahaha

#Asemulator news!
The end of the year is approaching, and I believe itβs about time to share more information about the long-awaited release of Asemulator.

What you see above is the unedited output from the gif export feature by the way! (using the upcoming Top-down template)
With the right speed values and resolution, it looks just like the real thing haha

30.05.2025 02:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I plan on posting a bit more frequently as well, to show some of the things I've implemented so far in detail.
I'll also be giving more info about the release and what's to come, so feel free to follow this account for more juicy news about Asemulator!
[5/5]
As for the extension's development part itself, there's only one major feature left to implement, so we're slowly but surely reaching the end of it!
I'll make sure Asemulator releases before the end of 2025 πͺ
[4/5]
Onto the big question: How long before release?
There's still quite a lot of uncertainties, especially regarding unavoidable issues caused by missing API features on Aseprite's side, as well as marketing/selling related stuff I'll have to do.
So basically, I don't really know either haha
[3/5]
I spent most of that time on the upcoming templates, and the action system is already fully functional!
Quite flexible, packed with features, and (hopefully) accessible enough for everyone to have fun with.
Here's a sneak peek of the "Edit action" menu, for the Jump action you see above:

#Asemulator news!
I know, it's been a while haha
Despite the lack of updates, Asemulator development is still ongoing, more than ever!
I've been working extra hard for the past few months, and we're getting closer and closer to the long-awaited release.

03.12.2024 00:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0#Asemulator update! v0.5.3 is now available :)
It includes "in-app" documentation, a new reload button for backgrounds, and a lot of bug fixes
The platformer template was also updated, don't forget to download it!
