Most major cities have a branch of the National Lawyers Guild who should be able to accommodate them. The MN and Portland chapters are pretty active too. They can help or refer locally, depending on the representation needed.

Our country was founded on independence — aspirational and clumsily attempted as it was — and has been sullied by this sort of servile, vapid Dick Wolfish law enforcement worship.

Literally lying first and correcting later is their go-to move. Any source that quotes ICE without fact checking or a healthy amount of caveats is not one that should not be taken seriously.

Congress passed the Taft-Hartley Act in 1947 (over Truman's veto) to make general strikes so incredibly difficult to organize that there hasn't been one since.

That there is a general strike happening in a major US city on such short notice is nothing short of a miracle.

Actually it's worse -- they're looking for people based on skin color and then, only once they've found them, trying to determine if they can charge them with violating the law.

They targeted Somali-Americans and stopped people on the street to ask "where are the Asians?"
