My dog has been having health problems & I haven’t been able to get in the holiday mood yet, but today I might do 20 minutes of decorating in an attempt to feel festive. 🎄

Two old Chihuahua mixes are on a bed. One is brown and one is white/tan. They wear sweaters & sit close together. The brown one has his favorite chew toy, a pink and purple triangle.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a dog picture so here’s Prince & Gertie enjoying their Sunday afternoon snuggles.

Went crazy planting bulbs today, so no matter how terrible winter & how much the world sucks in the springtime, I will at least have cute flowers to look at. 🌷🪻

Today I am going to attempt to drill about 100 holes into the ground to plant some bulbs. Wish me luck.

Had a blast playing Ween covers with friends at their annual “Brownout” event last night. I haven’t been playing shows & it’s been a nice, necessary break, but playing music with people will always be one of my favorite things & it felt good to jam for a bit. The crowd was lovely too! 🤘

My family does the weird 4pm holiday dinner, with the idea that you just eat appetizers instead of lunch so you’re hungry.

I know I’m a bit late to the party on this one but I finally started reading Jeff Vandermeer’s “Southern Reach” series. I’m only one chapter into the first book & I don’t really know where it’s going but I’m into it.

Recently had one of my more unhinged moments as a piano teacher. I have a student who struggled at the last recital b/c of distractions, so I had her play her piece for this next recital while I pretended to be the noisiest audience ever. Slurped a coffee, got sound effects of babies crying, etc. 😂

I have ambitions to make weird synth covers of songs from The Nutcracker but we’ll see if I can get that done before Christmas.

It was slow at work this morning & my coworkers were trying to figure out what Disney princess everyone is. They unanimously decided that I am actually just Roger from “One Hundred & One Dalmatians.” 😂

The latest episode of “The Chair Company” made me laugh so hard I cried a little bit. What a completely bonkers show.

Lots of green cherry tomatoes leftover in my garden this year. I actually picked them instead of just forgetting about them like I normally do, but now I don’t know what to do with them. Recipes or ripening tips are welcome!

Finally getting back into writing after two months of feeling creatively dead & abandoning my project. 🙃 Today’s goal is to just show up & get some words on the page.
