We used to have the Portex luer CSE kit. Was my favourite, the locking mechanism was very reliable. We've had both Braun and Pajunk NR Fit, and although they don't feel a nice, I've not noticed a higher failure rate.

I like the term "failure friends". We have peer support, but this feels wider and for more than just work failures.

That's so clever. Presumably a vaccine could be created to decrease siglecs rather than having to create the monoclonal antibody. Could revolutionise dementia treatment.

So true. Hope can we really know we're making a difference and to whom without it? EMRTS Cymru are doing just that, it's helping us but also the patients to understand what happened to them.

I'm fortunate in my trauma list, there's no laminar flow set up room so the rate limiter between cases is surgical set prep. I can do any anaesthetic including regional in the anaesthetic room and the patient will be ready before the surgical team. I don't see any block haters.

Our local group shared this the other day. I can't imagine being there. The suggestion that they wouldn't get in the way is bizarre, there's so much going on. It would take a huge shift to make it feel right.
That said, if a sensible parent really wanted it, I'd try to help.

@jeffgadsden.bsky.social Hey, what recording setup do you use for your podcast? There's a lovely sound to your recording, just the right damping, no echo. I like to record audiobooks of novels for my family to listen to in the car, but quality has been difficult to achieve this far.

These ones have added something for them to get angry with each other about, and additional reasons for them to suspect traitors for esoteric reasons. I enjoyed seeing them paddle in circles and get irritated with one another, reminded me of teaching my sons to kayak!

When either case do present, what urgency is average for surgery at your place?

Is it really more common or more commonly missed in females? Do women present less often with pain?
Either way, when a patient presents and suspicion is there, how quickly should we be intervening for either?

Historically in my region, a suspected testicular torsion takes precedence over almost every other case in emergency theatres. A suspected ovarian torsion doesn't.
I'm seeing a shift towards equality, but all these years I may have been complicit in institutional misogyny.
