Another really interesting case would be pro cycling, which is both a team sport and an individual sport, with different roles of riders etc.

Very nice. I was thinking a while back about how you get extra contextual information into the models. I see the in/off season component which is cool. Eg the importance of the event its important (both in terms of level of preparation and the induced pressure). Also injuries.
