It's actually more like, you buy X high-end GPUs when you actually need 50% of that count. You radiate them and over time check how much their work is effected. Some portion, while not being radiation-hardened on purpose, may be harder against radiation than anticipated for consumer electronics.

There was a really interesting thought from Ingenuity/Perseverance on Mars: if you buy a million computer bits (things damaged by cosmic rays) and do tests to *find* radiation-hardened pieces randomly made, it can be more cost-effective.

Yes Grok the AI isn't a person and it doesn't have agency, but as a counterpoint, many entities made only from protocols and computers (and sometimes people) are treated as a "person" in writing.
