Happy 50th birthday to the Fietsersbond (Cyclists Union), who formed out of this groundswell of activism to campaign for better infrastructure, safer streets, and stronger legal protections; an organization that advocated for cyclists not as nostalgic holdouts, but as rightful users of public space.
