Good album this, at a good price!

Glad to take this one off my wants list. I was never going to pay the cash being asked for a 1st pressing. I love Rumours, it’s a great record, I don’t think many would disagree with that, and I have always thought of Buckingham Nicks as a sister record to that album.

From the same stable as Jansch and Renbourn, Ralph McTell was huge in the UK folk scene. This album, Right Side Up, is reasonably early on in his discography, and is notable for covering John Martyn’s ‘May You Never’. Martyn also plays guitar on ‘River Rising’.

Had to pick this up when I saw it. I’m a big fan of Bert Jansch, and Bert & John collaborated many times. They are two peas from the same pod. I think I probably have all these tracks spread over several LPs but nice to have this sampler anyway.

Next up is Ghost In The Machine from The Police. Needed a good clean in the #HumminGuru and it had quite a few surface marks but they don’t affect playing. It actually sounds terrific after the clean.

Who Came First
Pete Townshend 1972.

A mixed bag, but worth the entrance fee for Sheraton Gibson and Parvardigar, and an understated but emotional rendition of Time Is Passing. Parvardigar is a great track I never get tired of.
