Blue no matter who (except for you) is what we call it out where I live. The local dems will rally behind anyone they view as “palatable” but if you even hint at anything that upsets the status quo, they panic if you say you’re considering a run.

So every time I see another company or industry going rapidly broke, as scary as it is, it’s a great reminder that I was righ. We didn’t do anything wrong, the money just fucking stopped coming in July.

During a meeting with our local county government, who we have a contract with to do a ton of services for very little money, we were asked “what do you think you all did wrong?” Meaning our financial issues are our fault. I sort of looked at them and said “the economy did this” and it was poo pooed

Running an arts nonprofit right now is fucking exhausting. How do we keep the artists from giving up when all of us are on the verge of collapse and the funding dried up in July? I just need a break.

It’s healing to see folks share a meal and break bread. To talk books and movies and about our kids and pets. The youngest was 3, there was every generation at the table. This is the kind of shit that will save us. Being together. It makes us ready to fight together. Don’t give up hope yet.

Our local bookstore @samizdatbookstore.bsky.social is hosting Monday night supper club. It’s cheap or free if you can’t pay at all. This is why we need bookstores: they’re not just a shop, they’re a community space. There were over 20 people tonight. And we all sat together and talked and ate.

As a local non profit we make it hella clear that any donation of items
We need for classes or money or time or a simple fucking “thank you for what you do” is welcome and more then appreciated and anyone who tried to make you feel otherwise can go kiss a duck (if the duck consents)

Telling moment: I was walking back from the rally, but a couple miles from it, carrying nothing but my gigantic American flag. An eight year old on his bike sees me with it and yells "No Kings!!" with absolute conviction.

My friends, they have lost the flag.

At karaoke at our local brewery and the feminine energy has take over. Every person in this bar knows that we are here for each other and the singers are from 10 all the way to 70 and the dudes in the bar definitely know tonight is not for them and I needed this
