06.08.2025 15:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We had a fascinating conversation with Dr. Louis Renoult (@renoultlouis.bsky.social) about all things memory! Hereβs a preview of what we discussed and stay tuned for the full release of the episode later this week!

This is, of course, a horrible idea. Hereβs my response with @jbakcoleman.bsky.social .

Chess.com stats widget preview
New blog post π£!
I built a simple widget that fetches any Chess.com user's stats. It can be easily embedded on a personal site or blog.
Check it out! josholivier.com/posts/post-5/
I wanted to print it in black or white, but all I had was orange TPU. Though it's kind of growing on me.
Check out more about how I made it here: josholivier.com/posts/post-4/
3D printed storage box on a triathlon bike
I designed and 3D printed a storage box for my triathlon bike! And it actually seems to work π
Itβs orange, stretchy, and hopefully aerodynamic.
Needless to say, I got a little carried away with this, but I'm super happy with how it turned out! I learned a lot from the whole process. I'm also open to feedback and suggestions for improvement :)
You can check out all of my spaghetti code here: github.com/josholiv/jos...
Probably my favorite part is this widget I built that automatically fetches my total workout distances for the year from Strava!
(on my About page: josholivier.com/about/)
I even added a button to change the unit of measure so my fellow Americans πΊπΈ can understand how far a kilometer is:
Originally, I just meant for this site to be a basic landing page for my CV, but as I worked through the tutorial, I warmed up to the idea of making it into a blog as well.
Now, I plan on using it to post things related to personal projects and hobbies too:
I started with the @astro.build blog tutorial. The tutorial is great and I strongly recommend it as a starting point for learning to build a site from scratch!

This is something I've wanted to do for a while now, both for fun and to get better at coding. But mostly for fun π
It is a great pleasure to share this new collaborative work on the Cognitive Neuroscience of Memory Representations with @fnim-lab.bsky.social @cvlneuro.bsky.social @psychologyuea.bsky.social

18.02.2025 21:25 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0New preprint! We found that age differences in the neural reinstatement of scene information are fully mediated by whole-brain cortical volume. We also found that reinstatement strength in the parahippocampal place area was associated with memory performance independently of volume and age.
