those assets always looked very much unfinished to me, like there was more STI intended to do to make them look more polished before the level was ultimately scrapped. like they're so close but just not quite there.

a lot of Sonic 2 ROM hacks that add the scrapped “Wood” zone back in never do much with the graphic assets and just use the unfinished-looking ones right out of the Simon Wai prototype ROM. 🧵

And yeah, things are evening out. Hopefully I’ll get my Kirby piece finally done before too much longer lol.

I’m gonna try to get back to those things. I am about to finish a new piece and want to start another one.

I’ve reached just over six months nicotine-free.

I’ve gotten some major debts paid down and am on track to finish off one more by the end of the winter (assuming nothing goes wrong).

I’m still around though. I still want to keep making digital and pixel art, and keep writing things. I never want to STOP making things.

Just been a lot.

Was a while where it really felt like nothing good was ever gonna happen again.

I guess last night gave me a sorely needed dose of hope.

Saw James Gunn's Superman while I was on vacation, finally.

Man, that movie is just pure inspiring hope. David Corenswet was the perfect casting. I haven't been genuinely thrilled by a superhero movie in like a decade, but that movie did it for me.

and on the subject of art, making progress on my Kirby piece. Finally got the background island to a point I don’t hate.

It was fun. Focused a bit much on Lady instead of Dante and wasn’t super deep writing, but it was fun.
