They are 20 litre drums (4 gallon?) the type with the tap fitting hole at the bottom. I cut the tops off and drill out the tap hole and fit a poly irrigation fitting to use it as the return hole to the reservoir. The drums are HDPE plastic which is food grade. I get them free or for a few dollars.

I’ve a collection of solar powered toys in the greenhouse.

Yes, agreed I usually plant cucumber crops that overlap. It’s winter here now and will probably be too cold for another crop. Take care, happy growing.

Working in the greenhouse today. Grosse lisse tomatoes need training , cucumbers are done and have been removed. Time to plant more lettuce.

The seeds are sown into nursery flat trays in January (our hottest month) and kept in the poly house. After three to five days the seeds are germinated and up. Daily watering and transplant into individual pots at the three true leaf stage.

Adenium obesum (desert rose). Seed collected from our mother plant. As the seed pod matures it dries and splits wind disbursing the seeds. To avoid losing the seeds we wrap sellotape around the pods. Then we collect the splitting pods into a paper bag.

Here I bought seedling starts from a nursery and transplanted them into the net pots as seedlings. I water them
From the top each day for the first three days until the plant roots get down into the nutrient solution. After three days I won’t need to water again and the plants will use what’s avbl.

Simple Kratky hydroponic system to grow some parsley for the chefs at work.
