huh. i guess you're right. looks like holding c/menu skips a textbox every *other* frame by alternating between x/cancel and z/confirm every frame(source: chapter 4 obj_writer code)

this makes me realize why i like Luau (roblox's extension of lua 5.1) so much
you can strongly type stuff as much as you want and the code editor will complain at you when you use stuff wrong. but you can also just say "any" or skip the types altogether and it does not care
