Perhaps I’m too chronically online, but just a moment ago mom was peacefully eating her salad and Jack, Jill and Gizmo decided to engage in a… doggy train.

And mom literally said: “You guys! Not while I’m eating!”

Yes: my mom had a “right in front of my salad?” moment.

Time in Reverse

After nudging from a few people, I started a blog about what it's like being a caretaker for mom. Feel free to share with anyone who may be going through this. I plan to post regularly but sporadically. The goal is to be real, yet elevated and (hopefully) helpful.

Once I accidentally sent a private chat complaining about my friends to our friend group chat. It was very embarrassing and added an odd vibe to the weekend. Anyway — this also happened today.

Me (knowing nothing about football but somehow knowing the teams): The Chiefs? (Yes, I know now that’s the wrong answer)

Chashier: Did your wife yell you to say that?

Me: Yes. Yes, she did.

Me: counting down the days for the next four years.

To be fair, they were two different messages at two different times. One alerting it was gonna happen and one when the app was no longer working. At any rate, it’s all a mess.

Saw “Shucked.” A fun romp. Could have been one act, honestly, but I loled a good amount. Fantastic cast. And Zakiya Baptiste on for Lulu — a star. I bet the audience will love it when the tour stops in Tampa.

Playing Lurch was a highlight of 2024

Rewatching “Psycho” and the scariest part in the infamous shower scene isn’t the 🔪🔪🔪 , it’s the fact she gets into that shower and just *turns the water on.* No preheating. She just rawdogs it. Pretty sure she’s the psycho.

FWIW: most dental insurance already has limits on anesthesiology - which I learned today. And the amount anesthesiologists charge is corrupt in its own way. It’s all a giant mess.

The inaccessibility of live theatre is a real issue, folks.

Left Sunset Boulevard at intermission. The show I was most looking forward to. And spent a lot of money on. The reason? The seats at the St James were so tight and close together, my knees were hitting the seat in front of me for over an hour — and by that point it was simply unbearable.

Going to NYC this weekend. Have our shows lined up. Where should we grab drinks, dinner? Joe Allen is a fave but I’m ready for something new.
