Oh and my chemo port is knackered again. They're leaving it in for just-in-case purposes since it's only being used for bloods now, which they can usually get from a vein if they can find one with an ultrasound. So many stabbins lol...

Just had 1.5 litres of fluid drained off my right lung which was.... fun? Also I seem to be undead. The nurse couldn't get a blood pressure or pulse reading from me, so I eventually got the 'uhh well you're warm, sitting up and lucid so you're probably fine, go home.' XD my veins are THAT tiny/deep.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Right so I don't like to talk about the shit going on in the real world because fucking hell, just fucking hell, but sometimes it's necessary to reiterate:

I'm on a new chemo drug now which is some pills you take at home, meaning less sitting in hospitals! It has a fun side effect of turning your hair white, which sould be amusing at least. We'll see in a couple of months if it's doing any good. Fingers crossed.

The good news is I didn't need my chemo port replaced after all, as it miraculously fixed itself. I do have to get my chest drained again though. Yay, lung gunk. The cancer might be slightly worse, but apparently by such a tiny amount it's hard to tell, so that's sort of good news.

Oof. Okay, health update. Should have posted last week but I (and everyone else in the house) have the worst streaming cold ever. Don't catch a cold when your lungs are already messed up, people. It isn't fun. I've basically spent the last week sleeping and sneezing. D8

...Well that was a 5 minute hospital appt that turned into a 4 hour appt. I got my CT scan... eventually. With bonus ultrasound and xray, because my chemo port is fubar and they can't get blood out of it :) they ended up having to dig for veins and now I have a referral to get a new port. Argh x.x

I've been having a break from chemo over xmas because it was starting to make me swell up again and I really don't need to become a living water balloon (again). CT scan tomorrow to see where we are and what to do next. If i'm honest, i'm not expecting great news, but we'll see.

Wow, so, 2025! Honestly wasn't expecting/supposed to make it. I'm going into this year the same way as the last one: no plans, no expectations, just a resolution to survive as long as possible. Here's hoping I get to carry on defying the odds for a while, and that everyone else has a positive year.

IDK who needs to hear this, but you're allowed to like one part of a band's discography and not the other. You don't have to know the whole history of a band to be a fan. You can just simply LIKE the music. You don't need to know names of every album or song or band member. You can just LIKE music.

Storm Bert: we didn't get flooded this time, but a lot of houses in the immediate area weren't so lucky. Again. :( We are under a boil water advisory though for the next few days due to the water treatment works being flooded... mmm delicious poo water! :D
