“What’s the point of higher education? You just need to find a husband who can provide for you. Education is only needed if you want to find work.”

“We’ve just finished paying for your older brother’s education, and soon your younger brother will need higher education too. Don’t you feel sorry for your brother?”

as if education is merely an investment where the return of value from educating daughters doesn’t have “enough” value. Whether for raising children and/or working, I believe education remains necessary.

There are cases where parents are willing to go into debt for their sons’ education, while for daughters, questions often arise like “what’s the importance of higher education for women?”

When Girls’ Education is Still Overlooked

There are still parents who view education as an investment, and for them, education for sons may have a higher priority than for daughters.
