while I’m here I might as well also complain about how fucking terrible it has been to listen to first person POV books lately, because narrators seem incapable of making a clear differentiation between when a character is monologuing some inside thoughts and when they’re actually speaking

whoever’s fault it is, the main thing is that the listening experience sucks!!!!!

It’s only with one of the two narrators though, so I am leaning less towards an audio editor failing to equalize levels and more towards this being part of this narrator’s style and the director (if there was one) chose to let him do it

I don’t know which member of the production team deserves my ire for this, but the audiobook I’m listening to has me adjusting the volume every other paragraph and it is making me angrier at this book than I want to be

1. I misremembered which road I was on
2. I hallucinated this
3. Someone obtained giant Minions decorations and 20 actual literal toilets since Sept 2025 (date of street view images)

Today (well yesterday technically) I drove past a house in my rural-ish area with a very long driveway that was lined with Minions decorations and like 20 toilets evenly spaced apart all the way up to the house. Just free standing toilets being used as lawn decor
