There are lots of good turn based games, and lots of good ARPGs that have released recently. On top of that, Final Fantasy has released two highly acclaimed entries in the last few years. I don’t get the issue. Bored of the faux outrage and desperation to pit series against each other now….

The question wasn’t “who will Liverpool sign”, which is what most people seem to be replying to me with, it was for a list of players who have been potentially linked with moves purely so TAW can build a list of players so they can play the transfer committee game.

It’s not about who Liverpool will sign, it’s about options for the transfer committee game. Whether Kerkez is nailed on or not, it’s not exactly a fun game when three of the five needed positions only have one option.

I mean if we’re going with the assumption that Wirtz, Kerkez and Frimpong are already done and that’s non negotiable from the off, then there’s going to be barely any business to do and no money to do it with. Not exactly a setup for the most fun transfer committee imo.

Other than the obvious 3, there’s Ekitike, Rodrygo, Fofana, Robinson and Hato off the top of my head, although some are for sure more plausible than others

I think I’d be more ok with launching games at $70 to $80 if value depreciation was as consistent as it used to be. I discovered so many great games through platinum/greatest hits labels long after games launched.

The problem seems to be that the trend for things like hardware and the newer AAA games is that the prices are going up, rather than down. To buy a PS5 or Series X now is more expensive for those who waited.

The console is one thing, but charging $20 more for what will likely be inferior ports of games from 2020 is quite the play. Also, this pricing suddenly makes Sony the value kings hardware wise, which feels insane all things considered.

Feels like it’s been some time since I’ve seen a reveal that’s been unforced error after unforced error. It’s maybe not quite XB1/PS3/WiiU, but it’s hovering around that area. Ceding your price advantage to a rival unprompted is a very odd move indeed.

To be fair, it’s hard when you have no outlets. Feels like our front line have gotten nearly every decision wrong so far tonight and just can’t hold up the ball.

There are sites that will generate a US based card you can use that essentially act as top up cards for a small fee. Even then though, VPN plus payment fees plus US network subscription STILL gets you more games for less money, which shows you how insane it’s gotten here.

Even if you don’t want to go down that route, the cost of a vpn plus a monthly subscription to a US based streaming service is infinitely better value than a sky or TNT subscription at this point.

Maybe, but I feel like if that’s the case then it’s surely more likely that the place goes full mask-off and turns properly GAF 2.0 rather than continue this weird charade of progressiveness for the next few years until the place finally shuts down.

The place really is just purple-GAF now isn’t it? At some point a significant number of it’s members are going to realise they’re participating in a forum mired with bigotry, and that will probably be the end of it, whether a replacement materialises or not.

Amirox was a mod on NeoGAF back in the day before ResetEra was a thing. Had a massive ego and superiority complex, acted like a twat and bent rules so he was always right. Ended up being demodded and then went to prison for possession of CP I think it was.

To be honest though, I think I worded my original point badly. I think the point I’m making is that I find it crazy how quick so many abandoned the original shitshow, but how much people are willing to ignore and forget all sorts of other bigotry and alt-right adjacent shit that’s happened on Era.

Through the scope of individuals? Absolutely fair, but at the same time Era mods have happily turned a blind eye to or enabled transphobia, sinphobia, undermined communities, and the board itself now generates revenue for right-wing chud hellsites due to new ownership, so it’s hardly all rosy.

Indeed. It’s very weird to see a community like that take any sort of high ground on morality when you consider who they are owned by and how problematic a number of moderation decisions have been and continue to be. Are they that much better than Evillore at this point? I’m not convinced.

Let’s not pretend that place is anything close to representing what it did when it first launched anymore.

I don't love it either, but I'm not sure how you tell a man that he should let his only surviving son rot in prison to respect norms, institutions, and the rule of law, when the country you devoted your life to serving just pretty comprehensively voted they don't give a shit about any of that.
