I use mobility aids. I'm grateful for the stair chairlifts at a home I visit. I also have a friend whose home has a tiny elevator. I'm grateful at that home too, but as a screaming claustrophobe, I find myself riding it with eyes squinched shut, holding my breath, praying for no power outage.

but lately it seems Michael's hates their own manufactured market consumers and their own employees as their scrapbooking and fake flower arranging supplies get more expensive and dwindle in selection, and employee count shrinks to one guy supervising automated checkout kiosks.

Michael's has always been monsters, replacing the availability of needed supplies with valueless kitsch. I can't BELIEVE they had me actually rooting for Joann's, a chain that displaced so many local fabric/sewing supply stores, because you could still get real supplies there.

Photo is a selfie with my husband seated next to me. We're in our boardgame room, and some of the game library is visible in the background. Spread on the table are the brightly colored components of a coop Marvel version of Dice Throne. TrifleCat lies neatly on the table and watches with quiet bemusement.

Trifle is (currently) quietly surveying our Dice Throne boardgame, doing a good job of lying on an unused area of the table, and (currently) not disturbing the complicated layout. My playboard shows that I am Captain Marvel.

Trifle thinks Emma Frost is a good ally, but I'm not sure. She's a powerful card, but it's not easy to roll five of a kind.

I'm wearing a soutache embroidered cardigan over a grass-green sweater that I crocheted and a short floral skirt, accessorized with necklaces of colored wooden beads and graduated malachite beads, an olive colored belt, a silk floral bolo worn as a second belt, and a brown cloche adorned with a feather fan and a large brooch with a large amber-colored cut glass cabochon.

I am dressed cute. We are playing a coop Marvel edition of Dice Throne. TrifleCat is helping.

The kickass can-do-anything apple did not fall far from the kickass can-do-anything tree.

Photo shows the two drawers from my vintage dentist cabinet full of nifty collectibles that contain brooches. A whole buncha brooches, some quite old, some, well, nope, not old at all!

I also just really dig brooches. That's how I found your page; I searched on "brooch." I feel like a kid showing their fingerpaintings to an art historian, but you can see why I'd love your knowledge!
