The knitwear season has officially hit kc 🥳

This is all to say I do not have a special Halloween video planned, but I will have a Halloweek crafting vlog out in 1-2 weeks.

Is it a bad time to admit I don't make a huge deal of Halloween and I never have a costume because I kind of live Halloween year-round? I do, however, attempt to do as many seasonal activities as possible.

ALSO also, I've said before that I have the kindest comment section on YouTube, but people are being extra sweet about my newest video. I have to assume I forgot my own birthday.

Also my partner put air in my tires because my knees problems don't let me crouch. It must be my birthday.

Okay, it's looking like yarn social, yarn barn, and Momo's tomorrow, then knit ewe together and unwind Sunday. Posting this publicly in case anyone wants to find me and duel.

Okay, redoing my entire yarn crawl schedule to hit five stores in two days. This is...fine.

And (I hope) this would not still be a topic of discussion had the apology addressed the tone at all, instead of just the technical errors. Again, I think this all came from a good, enthusiastic, pro-knitting place, but the handling of the aftermath has been so weeeird.

I think it came from a good place! Turns out there were multiple fiber artists involved, which makes it even more baffling. I do think the technical errors were just an oversight, not worth much fuss, but I keep getting stuck on "but then, the physicists showed up"...

And no I didn't update this take to mention how many knitters WERE involved. Multiple. My official stance is still "oh brother".

I've crocheted tapestry and intarsia, and I know how to catch floats because I never cut the yarn when I knit stripes lol. So I'm theoretically not starting from zero!

So many patterns I'm planning to knit after yarn crawl but they're almost all colorwork and I've never knit colorwork 🫢 I promise to start small lol.

I truly DON'T need to go out of my way to prove that was wrong. Indie dyers do it every day. But I do feel like I've checked something off of my list.

I was also very visibly out of place at that event lol. I went alone. I voiced my mild disappointment (about the lack of black yarn, not about the event) as politely as possible and was basically told "yeah well that's not a reasonable thing to expect and here's why" soooo ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
