And I wrote a little overview regarding the novel Hood that I think some of you might be interested in reading. Enjoy.

I added more exclusive chapters of Hood for paid members. I added more from The Three Tresspasses for paid and basic level members alike. I made the short story "Civilized Orcs Cook Their Food" public FOR EVERYONE.

You may or may not know, but I've been at home with COVID for several days. I have a mild case, so I've actually been up and about at home, getting stuff done. One thing I did was add a WHOLE BUNCH OF STUFF TO MY PATREON.

Mike Flanagan should cast Brett Goldstein as the voice of Oy in the Dark Tower series. "It's voice was low and deep, almost a bark; the voice of an English footballer with a bad cold in his throat."

I don't have a lot of time for television. But I am hooked, HOOKED I SAY, on these shows. I will finish them if it kills me. And then I'll start on something else, I guess.

You're setting yourself up for a joke about your mother. But at our age, Sam, I don't know whose moms are alive or dead, so that joke is dangerous and often falls flat. So I'll refrain.

When I posted the chapter last week, I read all that preachy stuff and cringed. I'm already sticking my neck out with the novel's premise - I don't need to be a white liberal stereotype as well. So I cut it out. Now it's just the story again. 4/4

To understand the problem of the novel Hood, you'd have to read it knowing who I am (I'm a well-educated and very liberal white straight cis man in case you didn't know). In an early draft of Chapter 14 I just told the story. In a later draft I went on a soapbox-y tangent and got too preachy. 3/4

Sex scenes are difficult. You have to strike a middle ground between being goofily "iridescent" in your language and being outright raunchy. I've written for pornographic magazine "forums" and I think the sweet spot is somewhere a little less graphic than those. Anyway, I hope I got it right. 2/4

Last week I posted two new chapters of my novel Hood on my Patreon. They're interesting chapters for very different reasons. Chapter 14 is indicative of what's wrong with the novel - and yes, it has a very specific problem that I am well aware of. Chapter 15 is a straight up sex scene. 1/4

I've been asking parents at my school if their child has ever seen snow. Most haven't. So yesterday was a momentous day.

For NO commitment (other than the time it takes to check me out), I have provided two good short stories (as judged by NYC Midnight), a poem (previously published but out of print and otherwise unavailable - and thus "sort of" exclusive), and a couple of interesting posts about me and my Patreon.

The point of a Patreon account, if I'm understanding it correctly, is for a content creator to provide unique and otherwise exclusive content to their "patrons" in exchange for some dedication - either in commitment or in compensation (and commitment). I believe I am doing just that.
