Solo seems right where it should be to me. I can never get over “So you’re alone…sounds like you’re Solo”. Or however the hell that line went.

Donald Glover as young Lando is all that I can enjoy in that movie.

I really hope they bring in Blood Syndicate; it’s always been my favorite of the various Milestone books (though I do absolutely love Hardware and all the rest, too). It would be so tough to do, though, at least as it was; so much of what made it forward-thinking is now de rigeur.

That is SUCH a good set, and all based on a variant cover! Now I just want a straight-up heist story with these guys in these outfits.

I’ve been trying to figure out a sequel to the infamous/absolutely wonderful Conspiracy ep of TNG, and I want to make it nothing like an Alien movie or like the sequel story in the Defiant comic series, and folks, it’s HARD.

But the TTRPG’s helped give me some tools to do it!

Yeah, same problem for me. Felt like that whole “natural darkness” fad that’s been going on. Just bc the characters can’t see doesn’t mean the audience shouldn’t be able to, too. I hate it.

Aw man, this show was legit. Far less bonkers than this poster makes it out to be.

So much of it is the weird coloring for me. Everything looks like plastic! Give me a book like Hulk or Thor any day of the week, where the pallet gets different.

Rae Sremmurd cowrote a Shadowman comic, I know, and they seem like they were probably into them as kids, too.

Language, too. I got the first issue of the Punisher: Red Band series, and it goes incredibly heavy on violence…but then all the swears are grawlixed. Just a bizarre choice.

I also want more books exploring different corners of the Absolute DCU. Green Arrow as a window into the rich people is neat. Now give me Absolute Vixen for how the arts work, things like that. The Absolute universe is distinct from the DCU, it shouldn’t just look different in terms of its heroes.

Honestly, it felt like, when he first appeared, he was *supposed* to be Deadpool but minds were changed midstream or something. Or it was a joke of “Hahaha, we’ll make you think it’s Deadpool but reveal him to be the most in-Deadpool character ever.”

Would absolutely love a book for this! I enjoy Flash immensely, and got on the train for this late.

The latter. The opening arc is kinda blah and generic grimdark in a bad way; it doesn’t really pick up until the flashback arc that IIRC follows it and sets up pretty much the entire main plot.

I started with the first Case Files, but in retrospect, the second one is probably a little better to start with. Better quality in general.

I’m giving it a 3, it’s too hot here still.

I feel like the funniest example of this is Jodi Picoult. Get the lady who writes tear-jerking pop-fic that are grounded and slow to write…Wonder Woman. Other than “let’s get somebody who makes $ writing books”, the why of it completely escapes me to this day.

Ta-Nehisi Coates was also pretty great, I’d say.
