Depends on the race, frankly. The small (but wonderful!) marathon I did in October was only $80 to register. The one I'm doing in Belfast was only like £90 to register (compared to like £200 to run London as an international...)

Networking vertically also runs both ways. The best part of having made it™️ professionally is being able to drop a ladder and help others climb: having people job shadow, writing LOR's/being a reference for job hunts, sharing opportunities with people who might not otherwise hear of them, etc. ☺️
