Shouldn't it be easier to pull off interesting shots and camera tricks in a virtual environment you have complete control over?

Is there a reason why so many video game cutscenes are "shot" so damn boring?
Like you put all these efforts on mocap, voice acting, lip sync, and all the additional touch ups, but then the shot is just eye level shot character A speaking, switching to eye level shot character B speaking.
