AI desperately needs to be regulated with consumer usage banned. *some* people will get around the ban, but like DVD encryption, the vast, vast majority won't. Nothing gets better until we stop the juggernaut.

Many people have been unhappy with having long covid.
But I'm very pleased to inform you that, finally, in C++26, we will have long long covid.

This has been your C++ programming joke for this year, I will issue another in C++29.

Oh. No. All those poor sociopaths in big tech.

I feel the opposite. I learned C++ first but only liked the C aspects. It's only later in life that I'm able to appreciate the C++ extensions.
Also helps that they've started to replace some of the wonky C++ stuff (see the progression from iostream to std::format).

Up close they do look like blenders but I've always admired them and their distant relatives, the pylons.

The fact that Meta will not rule out using private photos on your camera roll to train AI is abominable, full stop

Conflating the recording industry with the ai industry isn't rational.

PLF Library - bitset/bitsetb/bitsetc Custom bitsets for C++.

Quitting social media soon, because I don't want to keep a close eye on america's descent into hell anymore.

But I'll briefly post about plf::bitset(s): they have better performance in some areas, additional functionality, and a license that makes some people scream loudly.

I'm not sure that preferring Bernie Sanders over the incumbents in the Democratic party is the same thing as openly supporting MAGA. It seems to me like they'd rather have an actual left-wing government, but with the current setup, prefer the ones who'll do something about anti-trust (I sure don't)

It works - we've had it in NZ since the 90's (MMP).It has some issues but is light-years better in terms of representation.

Given recent american election, and the people who voted for the new president, I am thinking of new collective pronouns:

An 'embarrassment' of Americans?
Also, a 'mope' of Goths.
A 'creep' of politicians.
An 'enstrangement' of neurodiverse people.
And so on
