A caravan of Border Patrol and ICE agents, including a van with abducted individuals, drove out of the Target on Peterson Ave across from Rosehill Cemetery around 11:30 this morning, Nov 3. They came from the service vehicle loading dock, where it seemed Target allowed them to remain for some time

June Jordan said, "Activism... propels you forward, from one hard hour to the next. Believing that you can do something to make things better, you do something, rather than nothing... You do whatever you can. You reach beyond yourself in your imagination, and in your wish for understanding.β€œ

My heart is shattered for this Albany Park family right now.

Israel Guzman-Chavez was working in Evanston yesterday when he was kidnapped by custom and border patrol agents.

It's heartbreaking that anyone can make a living doing this. I just don't have words, how can so many people seem to take pleasure in being so cruel and subhuman.

Same. I got home from work last night and picked Persi up, told him how nice he smells and that if he wasn't here I might not be either. I also said that to him when I fed him a few minutes ago πŸ₯ΉπŸ«Ά

I truly do understand and trust that your heart is in the right place but I just want to clarify.."we may lose stuff" equals people's rights and lives.

So my point is, everything is always on the line, there isn't a #1 issue when it's all connected. I know we won't ever have a perfect political candidate but if you ask people to vote for the #2 issue instead of what's important to them I think we've already lost

29.10.2025 22:52 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I mean...that's amazing. I totally agree with you. So by that logic, the same things that feed trans righs will feed all of our rights. It's the same mindset that considers the outsiders in our lives and makes them insiders.

29.10.2025 22:47 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe I'm just more dense than I realized but, saying "I won't vote for you if you oppose _" is a pretty common thing. Some might even say the basis of democracy

Could you give examples of what issues you're thinking of? Ones you'd compromise on? Because mine involve basic rights, not weather or not someone is going to fill a pothole

Hey man, please don't talk down to someone like that. I don't care if this is the internet but have some humanity. And if you don't think you're out of line, welp...

Telling someone you aren't going to vote for a candidate and explaining why is a good and normal thing. Not voting for someone that doesn't care about you is the whole damn point dude

29.10.2025 22:00 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

This is unhinged and just flat out wrong. My brain is simmering in my skull with how backwards this is. People have made their entire living trying to figure out why certain demographics don't vote. Why in the world would anyone vote for someone who doesn't think they should exist?

Dear Mr. Faulk, Mr. Ryan, and Mr. Waring,

My mother is buried in Rosehill Cemetery, a Dignity property in Chicago, which your company manages. My father also holds a reserved plot there. I was deeply disturbed to learn that today, armed and masked federal agents were using the cemetery grounds as a staging area for immigration enforcement operations in the surrounding community.

I want to be clear: I do not expect SCI or Dignity to take political positions. What I do expect is that you uphold the dignity, sanctity, and safety of the spaces entrusted to your care. Cemeteries are sacred groundβ€”places of mourning, reflection, and remembrance. Allowing armed, unidentified agents in unmarked vehicles to occupy that space desecrates it. It frightens visitors, community members, and employees alike, and it betrays the trust of the families who have chosen Rosehill as their loved ones’ final resting place.

As a private entity, SCI and Dignity have the legal right to prohibit ICE, CBP, and other federal enforcement personnel from using your property for such operations without a judicial warrant. I urge you to exercise that right and to adopt clear policies ensuring that no government agency may use any cemetery grounds under your management for enforcement or staging purposes. Doing so is not a political actβ€”it is a moral and professional obligation to the deceased, their families, and your own staff.

Many of those interred at Rosehill, and the families who visit them, are immigrants themselves. To allow their resting place to be used in acts that terrorize the living descendants of immigrant communities is a profound moral failure. I ask that you take immediate steps to ensure that this never happens again and communicate publicly your commitment to protecting the sanctity of these grounds.

I am requesting a written response outlining yo…
