The ergonomics of the non-AI Nikon lenses are really nice, I quite like the scalloped metal focus and aperture rings.

Shooting with a WLF on a 35mm camera sure is An Experience. I much prefer a prism, but this adds something a bit weird and fun to my collection.

Just shot a roll with the camera, and it appeared to work okay. Will have to wait a bit for the negatives to see for sure though!

Just got the negatives back from a couple of rolls I put through this, and it seems to work perfectly!

The WLF is very silly. I love it.

🤔 I don’t really have the space to do darkroom printing, but doing a cyanotype of a 4x5 photo might be cool.

This camera basically ticks all the boxes:

✅ Compact.
✅ Easy film loading.
✅ Automated film advance, no red window.
✅ Relatively fast lens for medium format (f/3.5).
✅ Coupled rangefinder.
✅ Capable shutter .

Finally got a Super Isolette with a working film advance mechanism!

(On the last one I bought the shutter button/film advance interlock was broken)

If I like the camera (and I probably will, I’m a bit of a Nikon fangirl when it comes to cameras), I’ll probably get the plain prism. The bulky metered finders don’t particularly appeal to me.

Got a Nikon F with the waist level finder (I look forward to finding out just how awkward a 35mm WLF is!)
