Yes, his range and depth is amazing!

I’ve been listening to War and Peace and recently finished Anna Karrenina, and it has struck me how much narrative propulsion Tolstoy gets out of tracing biographical developments. Like, the drama is in how people change and grow and incorporate their life’s events into their sense of the world.
