The coordinated nature of thisβ€”none are facing voters in 2026β€”means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

Tell Chuck Schumer to grow a spine and hold the line…

There should be no deal that leaves working families behind.

One of the most important provisions of the ACA was eliminating pre-existing conditions exclusions from insurance plans.

Folks need to be reminded that if the ACA goes away, so does that provision.

Rich people are complaining about their taxes going up and like, can't you just make more money? I swear, rich people these days just don't want to work anymore. They're so lazy and entitled. Like pull yourself up by your gold plated bootstraps, rich people, don't you always say that's so easy?

I think a number of press outlets badly want there to be a groundswell of anti-trans feeling, because the ownership/senior editorial of those papers have absolutely cooked their own brains on transphobia. It seems to be largely an elite psychosis!

I hope no one lets any elected official to pretend to forget about this. They want people to starve.

Experts reveal climate change drove extreme wildfire seasons across the Americas, making burned areas much larger Human-driven climate change made wildfires in parts of South America and Southern California many times larger and more destructive, according to an annual assessment by international experts.

Wildfires aren’t necessarily happening more often, but they are becoming more intense.
A new international study shows that hotter, drier conditions are making it easier for fires to spread rapidly once they begin.

you don't have to put on blackface to get social media attention. you can simply develop mild depression, join a menswear forum, spend the next 15 years arguing about pants, and then weaponize the knowledge against your enemies on social media.

Teen Vogue's Closure and the Quiet Defunding of Worker Consciousness Teen Vogue’s shutdown marks more than a media loss. This is a warning about how profit-driven consolidation quietly dismantles worker awareness and voice.

β€œSince 2018, labor columnist Kim Kelly brought the labor beat to teenage readers through her β€œNo Class” column, covering everything from wildcat strikes to general strikes, the Gilded Age labor organizer Mother Jones to contemporary Amazon warehouse conditions.” πŸ’” thisislaborwise.com/teen-vogues-...

Daily News Union Finally Comes to Terms With Hedge Fund Overlords The 105-year-old NYC tabloid is hanging on. And more news for your Monday.

After 3 years sparring with their billionaire owners for a basic union contract, workers at the NY Daily News are finally on the precipice of inking a dealβ€”and clawing back some of what they've lost since hedge-fund vampires took over the paper in 2021.

For any politician facing them, there are two ways of handling these attacks: by promising to care less about trans people or by promising to care more about everyone. If you are not responsive to the needs and interests of a broad coalition of working people, you can be more easily caricatured as dedicated to the interests of some nefarious (and often racialized) other. But if you do have a compelling vision for how to improve all people’s lives, the fact that not all of those people are the same carries less weight. It is true that many Americans would rather starve than share a table with someone they view as less deserving or too deviant from their own experience. But it’s especially true if all that’s on the menu is scraps.

I'm in @thenation.com this morning on the repeated failure of transphobia as political strategy, efforts to scapegoat trans people for Democrats' own failures, and Zohran Mamdani's model of solidarity

This moment says everything about why Zohran Mamdani won.

A journalist in a wheelchair asked about accessibility and Mamdani didn’t talk down to him, didn’t deflect, didn’t politicize it. He listened.

He’s the kind of leader who respects everyone, every faith, every class, every flag.

If I was running for Congress, I would promise to appropriate money for USAID, b/c as far as I am concerned it remains an agency as no-one repealed the statute that created it in 1998. It blew my mind at the time that we were like, yep, sure, we will just close an agency without authorization.
