So Netflix is pulling their Oscar support from "Emila Perez" because of the racism of the lead. That is good, there should be consequences for racism.

But they will continue to platform racist, transphobic, homophobic men. Consequences apparently only apply if you are trans.

The new "Go die somewhere else, tr***y" policy of the US State Department aligns perfectly with the attitudes of all the fundamentalist churches I was forced to attend as a child.

I am running into this with my MPH research. We are being erased and there is so little resistance or backlash it is terrifying.

My first tattoo was a bind weed flower, with subtle trans colors. It reminds me that flowers can bloom even where they aren't wanted, and unwanted beauty is still beautiful.

I think about that a lot.

Had an excellent meeting with my preceptor for my MPH today. I am excited to start working on my thesis project and finally have this degree.
