The “un” changes the context quite a bit!
Some may think it is undrinkable Thomas, I suppose that’s one of the great things about the variation we have in whisky 😊
Agree there’s a lot out there for that money tho 👍🏻

It’s definitely lively Mike, and not for the faint hearted! I agree it benefits from some “open time” but for me part of its attraction is its youthful punch on top of the more traditional Springer undertones 👍🏻

Trying to make my way through the bucketload of miniatures I’ve got…..

Taking myself off Insta and the cesspool that was Twitter improved my mental wellbeing no end - made me realise how much wasted time I was expending watching or reading pish. The way they’re used by some is a modern day blight on society IMO. Whisky and a bit of friendship, all that interests me.

I’m the same Scotty. I’ve had my fill of it tbh. I don’t come on here much. It lets me keep a link to the broader whisky community but that’s it. If it gets into politics or the nasty side of “social” media i either stop following or mute stuff. I’m with Mick tho, be a shame to see you go mate.

Got mine delivered yesterday, I agree it’s a great spirit for a Port maturation / finish 😊

Strangely that’s one I’m not as big a fan of for some reason 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lagavulin 16 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl | House of Malt The Islay contribution to the 'Classic Malts' collection is profound, arid, and extraordinarily smoky. Lagavulin stands out as arguably the most intensely

Not too bad a deal at £59.95 🥃

Round to one of the lad’s places last night for a few drams, a cigar and a catch up.
Not a bad wee selection…..

Macallan and Springers are usually always gone before the release - it’s like the wee angels come down and whisk(y) them away before us mere mortals get a sniff…….. 👼 🥃

Probably the fruitiest dram I’ve had - I’d definitely buy one of these although it’s not available - only as a sample when we were at the distillery unfortunately. 🙁

Next up is the Royal Lochnagar, cask sample from 2001. 54.8% ABV 🥃

Very pleasant Mick, not had much before either, but it’s fruity on the nose, apples and pears, with a sweetness in the background.
Palette is good, cereals and toffee, slight spicyness. Finish is quite long, with an ongoing light spicyness.

Hope so Mark, I’ve been doing a number of side by sides recently, opening the 80’s and 90’s bottles my dad gave to me. Been a few eye openers!

Picked up a couple of bottles of Glenmorangie 10 bottled in the 90’s to try……
Think I’ll do a side by side with the current bottling to see how it’s changed.

Been a long time since I tried Vegan cheese, I’d hope it’s evolved as it tasted rotten way back…..

“Would you like some Cheddarton vegan block on toast” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, not quite as appealing……
