I think they’re all enjoyable, but the 15yo and Brume Doree topped the bill for me 🥰.

12yo Brume Doree thoughts - It’s a cracking dram for me, it’s fruity, which I love, it’s nicely rounded, it’s more complex, it’s a flavour bomb 🥰. #SPEYWhisky

12yo Brume Doree 🏁 - Long, and spicy, with tangy red fruits, then darker fruits. There is a little drying, which leads to espresso coffee, hazelnuts, and dark shag tobacco. #SPEYWhisky

12yo Brume Doree 👅 - BIG PALATE! Spicy and fruity, nice oily mouthfeel, and is so flavourful. A platter of red berries, raisins, toffee, caramel, molasses, demarera sugar, black pepper, liquorice, it’s so jammy. The spices linger wonderfully, and it warms the palate beautifully. #SPEYWhisky

…SPEY 12 Year Old Brume Doree Cask Strength begins with a 120-hour fermentation and slow distillation, then matures for 12 years before finishing in bespoke Brume Doree French oak casks. This cask strength edition is said to unite tradition and innovation in every drop. #SPEYWhisky

#SPEYWhisky 12yo BD Nose: a real jump in the ABV tickles the nasal hair! Lemon bonbons, dried fruit, vanilla ice cream and Penny toffees to start. There's a hint of sherry here too. A little marzipan and dark chocolate.

12yo Brume 👃 - Mich bigger on the nose, the strength difference is immediately noticeable. Linseed oil, old style window putty, inside the back of a decorators van, with straw and/or hay. Pinewood surfaces, pomegranate seeds, and another that leans towards red berries. #SPEYWhisky

It’s time to move onto our fourth and final dram of the night and something sipsationally new: SPEY 12 Year Old Brume Doree Cask Strength. What does this dish up and deliver on the nose? #SPEYWhisky

15yo STR Thoughts - Again for the ABV they have packed in so much flavour. It’s like a blended fruit juice, with oak coming through, and cereals. A very good dram. #SPEYWhisky

15yo STR 👅 - This so fruit syrup. Syrup from a tin of strawberries, cocktail cherry jar juice, raspberry ripple ice cream again, with a little drying on the tongue initially. Jammy dodgers biscuits, aniseed drops, and cough candy 🥰. #SPEYWhisky

15yo STR 👃 - Initial this is more rounded for me, and it offers a little more depth. Cranberries and raspberries arrive first, with pomelo hanging around the fringes. Raspberry ripple ice cream, peach and strawberry tea, biscuits with fluffy strawberry marshmallow on top. #SPEYWhisky

12yo thoughts - For a 40% ABV dram this one punches higher. They certainly do get plenty of flavour packed into their whisky. Again, another enjoyable dram. #SPEYWhisky

12yo 🏁 - Still spicy, Sherry and rum notes continue, and it heads towards black coffee, cherry mivvies, cola cubes, old leather, and it’s nice and warming. #SPEYWhisky

12yo 👅 - This dives straight into spiciness for me. Red and black liquorice, black peppercorns, Pontefract cakes, 5 spice and molasses. It comes across higher strength than it is. #SPEYWhisky

12yo 👃 - This is fresher for me. Wind swept grass, a little vegetal, rose water and lime flavoured Opal fruits initially. Green apple skin and weetabix come next, slight linseed oil notes, and cherry pie. #SPEYWhisky

Right #DramFam it’s time to move onto our second sip of the night; SPEY 12 Year Old. What can you uncover and discover on the nose? #SPEYWhisky

CC PX Thoughts - This is a very approachable dram, it has lovely flavours, it’s certainly Christmassy, and would be a great introduction to sherry casked whisky for newer folks to whisky imho. #SPEYWhisky

CC PX 👅 - Sweetness first, with stoned fruits, apricots, peaches and nectarines. Then darker fruits arrive, figs & cloves, then cinnamon and ginger. #SPEYWhisky

SPEY Whisky is produced at the Speyside Distillery – which, as of this year, will become a lost distillery. Keep your eyes peeled for some very exciting developments from the company over the coming months and years. #SPEYWhisky

CC PX 👃- Orange marmalade, cherry bakewells, raisins, and light wood notes in the background. Figs come through eventually, it’s an inviting nose tbh. #SPEYWhisky
