Today I get to do one of the best parts of my job. The @aushsi.bsky.social team have gathered our partners and stakeholders for the culmination of our 5yr MRFF project to improve neurodevelopment outcomes for kids with CHD for a National Priority Setting meeting to identify "what’s next”.

From #digitalhealth to authentic community engagement and everything in between, the #AusHSI team left #HSR24 feeling energised and inspired by the connections that were made and #healthservices research explored.

Really enjoyed this morning’s symposium from Wesley Research Institute and colleagues on virtual healthcare. So relevant given the stresses on our health system around workforce, equity of access, and rising costs. Well done all!

Given they’re a β€œrich” country and could easily use equity as a modifier in their decision making (which would be one of the only reasons for dismissing the use of QALYs) it sadly begs the question whether there’s political/commercial influence on that decision to eschew evidence.

I’ve always found it a bit gobsmacking the the US actually ban the use of QALYs in healthcare decision making! Mike Drummond asks the #HSR24 audience if we’re aware of any other instance of exclusion of research evidence being legislated!

Kicking off day 2 of #HSR24 with Mel Baysari on Decision Support. No surprise that alert fatigue is worse than ever.

Thread for those new to BlueSky. First of all, welcome. It feels like a safer space, doesn’t it? But also perhaps a bit disorienting initially? Here’s some tips for getting your bearings.
