I think itβs popular in some circles because it is so brief, but in my opinion, itβs a poorly designed measure. When Iβve needed something brief in the past, Iβve used the ASQ, C-SSRS screener, or pulled items from the SITBI.
26.11.2025 00:13 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0To my mind, there is no practical difference and is one of the reasons I never use that measure.

Know that you can still provide @trevorproject.bsky.social's direct number (866-488-7386 or text to 678-678) to folks who need it.
Given that this also cuts needed funding for this work, it's a good day to donate to The Trevor Project here:

If you are wondering why recently departed senior NIH officials are not speaking out more, there is a legal 1-year cooling off period for matters related to NIH.
Their silence should not be interpreted as complicity or cowardice, but rather respect for the rule of law.

Graphs showing 25 years of budgets for the National Institute of Health, NASA, and the NSF. In all cases, the proposed budget for next year is far, far below any year of the previous quarter century.
There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd.
It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.
Viewpoint in JAMA details the consequences of the proposed cuts to NIH:
