ChatGPT Is Blowing Up Marriages as It Goads Spouses Into Divorce Across the world, marriages are being destroyed as spouses use AI like OpenAI's ChatGPT to attack their partners.

> Even Geoffrey Hinton, a Nobel Prize-winning computer scientist known as a "Godfather of AI" β€” a technology that likely wouldn't exist in its current form without his contributions β€” recently conceded that his girlfriend had broken up with him using ChatGPT.

I think their biggest advantage is that they provide the tools and language used for native Android app development (Android Studio has been based off IntelliJ IDEA for years, and Kotlin is the platform preferred programming language).

Their relationship with Google is probably their biggest asset.

When AI is allowed, developers spend less time actively coding and searching for information, and instead spend time prompting AI, waiting on/reviewing AI outputs, and idle. We find no single reason for the slowdownβ€”it’s driven by a combination of factors.

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers.

The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

The Pulse: Will US companies hire fewer engineers due to Section 174? It’s rare that a tax change causes panic across the tech industry, but it’s happening in the US. If Section 174 tax changes stay, the US will be one of the least desirable countries to launch startups

I feel that not a lot of people have been reporting about this, maybe @gergely.pragmaticengineer.com one of the few to digged deep into it blog.pragmaticengineer.com/section-174/

There is no point in speculating what can it do in the future. All AI predictions for 2025 are turning up false. For what it is worth today, studies showed that there is no actual performance improvement at work, and "AI" is just an excuse to do layoffs.

$500m in revenue - not profit! - for the one Microsoft ai product people actually like. Pathetic!

Also back in 2023 the WSJ reported that Microsoft lost $20 for every $10 copilot a month subscriber. Amazing stuff everybody
