Op 13 februari 1945 startten de bombardementen op Dresden, met zo'n 25.000 doden tot gevolg. Onder meer 'Het stenen bruidsbed' van Harry Mulisch en 'Slachthuis vijf' van Kurt Vonnegut gaan hier (deels) over. Vonnegut overleefde de bombardementen omdat hij met anderen schuilde in een slachthuis.

I think we have everything backed up on non-us servers, but accesibility declines dramatically when we stop using OCLC/Google (but also Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, etc.). Quality might improve, but only after years of work to restore access.

Agree, but also recognize (as director of a library that has a lot of books stored at google) that it's hard to pivot away from this.

Libraries also use OCLC on a large scale, and we should ask the question if we're still on the right track with that.
