It was jarring on 1st watch - β€œwho tf are these new people???” - but it’s majestic on rewatch. Probably my 2nd-favorite season.

I am a Democrat. I can both be relieved that our party is standing its ground on the shutdown and also critique it over the numerous times it’s caved over the last 8-9 months. We’re allowed to do both.

Interesting. Gordon doesn’t really stand out to me much in Continental, except during I Need to Talk to Tom. Charlie Platt felt like the real voice of the promotion, whether pre- or post-Gordon.

how is β€œThe Louvre of Bluesky is Libs of TikTok for leftists” not implying similarity of magnitude?

Or was β€œthey’re not exactly alike” in the footnotes?

These Pete stans … I simply do not see it with him.

He has no juice whatsoever w black folks over, oh, 50, and youβ€˜re not winning a Dem primary in this country without it.

I agree with his premise, but the "focus on identity" comes from party leadership, not the base. And it's clear from polling that the base HATES current leadership.

So I don't know who this was directed at, tbh. Take it up with Schumer and the milquetoast candidates he selects.

The thing about being neurodivergent is that I Like It. What I don’t like is that the world imposes numerous taxes on me for being like this.

I don’t view it as a Me problem.

I’m autistic. Not because of Tylenol.
Not because of vaccines.
Not because of some headline.
I’m autistic because that’s how
my brain works. Stop treating us
like a problem. Start listening to us.

Tylenol is part of Kenvue, which spun out from J&J. (Learned that today!)

Regardless of the name, they will absolutely sue. A brand like Tylenol? Getting dragged into this stupidity? Bruh …

Who is β€œyou”? It’s pretty arrogant to assume I didn’t vote for Harris, never mind canvas for her.

And no amount of β€œwe warned you” explains why 95 Dems voted for the resolution. It’s moral cowardice that will only cause more folks to stay home next time.

β€œhow our government actually works” is kinda beside the point when 95 Dems vote to honor a race-baiting transphobe.

What's effectively happening here (in the British media at large, too) is the construction of "anti-racism" as somehow a "political alternative" to racism, rather than as a minimal civilisational standard, which in turn (further) vindicates racism as *also* an acceptable political position.

This is wildly privileged, and frankly offensive to the marginalized groups that Kirk targeted. Shame on you.

Try leaving the ivory tower and seeing the real world where the rest of us live.

The whole β€œit’s not legal” point is what trips Dems up time and again: Too much focus on being β€œcorrectβ€œ instead of speaking directly to the base.

This is good politics by Mamdani.

I gotta think people are just looking for something to take their frustrations out on, because nothing about β€œbe careful what you put your name on” warrants obnoxious subskeets like these.

Glen Perkins … that is a name I have not heard in a very long time …

The Twins may have thrown in the towel on this season (and this decade) but I’ll take a shutout of the Yanks! Gotta find joy somewhere …

Twins shut out the Yankees for the first time since Aug. 11, 2008.

That night: Glen Perkins for eight and Joe Nathan for one in a 4-0 win at the Metrodome.

Tonight: Simeon Woods Richardson for six and Kody Funderburk, Travis Adams, and Pierson Ohl for one each in a 7-0 win.

Point is that you can’t use general election performance (or general election polling) to determine how conservative Dems view a NYC mayoral candidate. I lived there for over a decade - a lot of Dems in NYC only vote in the primary!

14.09.2025 16:53 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The proper comp is how Mamdani performed in the Democratic primary relative to Adams in 2021. Mamdani scored 56% of the vote after ranked-choice; Adams in 2021 only clocked 51%.

And again, Mamdani’s performance was against a former governor.

14.09.2025 13:09 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

You’re comparing apples to oranges: Mamdani is running against the incumbent, the former governor, and a Republican in a general election. Neither Diblasio nor Adams had that stiff of competition.
