TFW, as a nation, you have abandoned the effort to properly resource a decent rounded education for all, and have decided instead to focus on using physical coercion to drive teenagers through a pointlessly overstuffed exam system, before being forced to stay in education for 2 more years anyway.

It has been just over 200 days since the Supreme Court ruled that a woman was defined by biological sex alone. This landmark judgment sought to end legal and practical uncertainty, particularly on protecting single-sex spaces for women such as changing rooms.

This just isn't true. It's factually wrong. But who cares about facts?

The president of the United States thinks asylum-seekers come from mental asylums.

He says it in almost every interview where the topic of migration comes up.

How is this not 25th Amendment territory? How is he not an embarrassment to this entire country?

When white people react with hostility to sharing space with Black and brown folk, they don’t care if those folk were born here, migrated legally, or are “illegal aliens.” They only see non-white faces who “don’t belong in their space.” This is why “ordinary concern” about migration is basic racism.

With all these extrajudicial boat murders, we have a president who is not only an adjudicated rapist, but also an unapprehended serial killer.

The UK is doing worse on public health than many comparable nations — and the gap in healthy life between rich and poor is 18 years.

Tackling health inequalities must be a core responsibility of government.

Osborne deserves a lot more condemnation, for not just doing austerity but doing it so cackhandedly:

1. Not borrowing to invest when borrowing costs were at essentially zero

2. Cutting spending by salami slicing every part of the public sector with no real analysis of where could take it

If you haven't seen this, Zoe Gardner has circulated this morning this "open letter" from asylum seekers housed in hotels to their local community. It's very "dignified" whilst stating a few truths. I'd suggest circulating it as widely as possible 🙂
