12.02.2026 14:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My younger brother officially makes me disgusted in who he's become. Non-stop reposting transphobic trash from right wing ghouls all day long about that tragic school shooting in BC. I have lost a brother completely and his rhetoric truly sickens me to my core.
12.02.2026 05:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I always find the comments from dipshits lying about the Edmonton LRT online comical when you see just how many people use it during the morning rush and throughout the day. You'd think these were Snowpiercer trains the way they talk about them. No, you're not gonna get stabbed daily π
#yeg #lrt
And the Alberta government wants to make the speed limit even higher!!! Talk about making problems like this even greater if that happened. Car brain is a hell of a disease in this country.

The wife and I just moved here and we'd be out so fast if that separatist nonsense somehow got passed here.
10.02.2026 14:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Opponents of infill said the quiet part loud today.
They don't believe renters should be allowed to live within their neighbourhoods, only on the fringes, by major roads.
Their primary, unifying, rallying concern is "homeowner value" and getting what's their's.
These folks get way too much time in the spotlight. I get it, local news needs drama to sell stories but they are the minority and a small one at that. It's all vibes and feelings versus actual, concrete data. Edmonton deserves better than this nonsense. If council caves, I'mma flip a bloody table.
10.02.2026 05:34 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And having just left Hamilton, they're not exactly building a whole lot right now and have massive gaping holes in the network. I rode some 4000km in the lower city on the bike share so I knew the bike network well.
08.02.2026 07:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A bus stop sign that is piss yellow that says in black lettering: OUR NAME SAYS NO OUR PRICES SAY YES NOFRILLS YESSAVINGS
What was the Loblaws marketing team smoking with that tagline below No Frills? YESSAVINGS makes jack all sense π
07.02.2026 14:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Think they're bad on the highway? You should get a load of em on local streets anytime it's a pedestrian crossing. I've only lived here for 4.5 months and have been nearly clipped 20 times crossing the street downtown. Red lights, no turns on red, pedestrian crossing lights, all ignored here.
07.02.2026 05:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh look, Reuters blowing smoke up everyone's ass and pretending that SpaceX was ever going to Mars let alone the Moon. The guy can barely get these things into orbit as is. Also, Elon was tight with pedos so who gives a shit about his rocket company at this point?
07.02.2026 04:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They were never going to Mars and you folks (along with all the mainstream media reporting that they were) is so incredibly pathetic.
07.02.2026 04:13 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Goddamn the comments and quote posts for that are bleak shit. Liberalism, not even once.
06.02.2026 14:17 β π 14 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Totally fair, I'd love to be in Vancouver one day, the wife and I visited before COVID. It's just too expensive for us sadly. The trend seems to be shifting inwards a bit more with Edmonton with more infill and hopefully more towers in the core. I live right downtown and it's definitely quiet, haha
06.02.2026 05:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I hope for Ontario's sake people wake up but based on living there for 36 years prior to moving, I have little hope. Alberta has its issues too, don't get me wrong, but at least housing is still affordable and Edmonton has a killer LRT system I fell in love with.
06.02.2026 05:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's partially the people of Ontario's fault for continually voting in that buffoon Ford. I never voted for him but kept getting put through the ringer cause of suburban dipshit voters and people suckered by cheap beer and promises of endless housing starts.
06.02.2026 05:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I know Metrolinx built it, they're about to screw up the Hamilton one too I suspect. I specifically left Hamilton and Ontario behind because of incompetence like that. It still reflects poorly upon Toronto regardless. Toronto has enough leverage to push back on crappy transit projects though.
06.02.2026 05:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0LRT is a horrendous term too, so many projects get lumped into that category that don't belong there. It's just an easy catchall to go "look, we built a train, we care about transit!" and then you get the garbage "LRT" that Toronto builds.
06.02.2026 05:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I know right!?! Need the assholes for easy clicks I guess. Why ask the pro-infill folks for their opinion or the hard data that blows holes in these ding-dongs doomerism about infill.
06.02.2026 05:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Call them whatever you want then, I give up, lol You'll never convince me that streetcar is a good term for them regardless.
06.02.2026 05:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I get it, you don't wanna call them trams, sheesh. Speed them up and call them trams is my stance on it. We're clearly not going to agree about this. Have a good one βοΈ
06.02.2026 05:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Agree to disagree I suppose. I just think using standardized language is generally a good thing so that we don't get this convoluted mess in planning when trying to explain these things to the public.
06.02.2026 05:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0North America are the only ones calling them streetcars making us the odd one out here. We don't need to be some special flower here. Tram is quite ubiquitous worldwide these days. I'm with Reece on this one. Streetcar is just a bad name for them in my opinion π€·ββοΈ
06.02.2026 05:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0These people are absolutely sick in the head. I hope Thomas' entire financial future goes down the toilet buying that extra house as karma for being a NIMBY a-hole. The ones doing covenants are just as sick too. These folks need to get a grip on reality.

People would just get used to calling them trams eventually though. We change the names of plenty of places and things, sure some will still call it the old name but most just get over it π€·ββοΈ They should be called what they are, trams. Streetcar is just some nonsensical term for them.
06.02.2026 05:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Naming them streetcars isn't going to trick the carbrains into using them. They're just trams, they're called trams all over the world. We need to get onboard (mind the pun) by calling them what they actually are as they certainly aren't cars.
06.02.2026 04:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0I can't agree more but our capitalist addicted economy doesn't care if it saves money only if it makes money. The homeless are an afterthought to the richest sickos running society, they simply don't care. As long as they make a buck it's all honky doory for them.
06.02.2026 04:52 β π 10 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0It's kind of shocking to be honest. Doesn't help that folks get no literacy about how their city works in school. I know I never did growing up and I doubt it's been added since then. Civics was half a credit for me in highschool and focused mostly on the Federal level.
05.02.2026 04:46 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I also find it hilarious all the squawking about "tHe CoST oF BiKe LAnes" as the city blows half a billion+ expanding the Yellowhead π€¦ Half a billion would build an entire citywide bike network for Pete's sake.
