Sure, I just mean that if we can’t shift his £350k p/w wage that he’s probably better deployed at the back than expected to do any actual running in midfield.

Ideally someone in Saudi would quietly slide a cheque across the table for him.

And Case would be better off at CB than CM in the prem these days

The problem is that with the new signings Bruno isn’t playing much if at all at 10 and is now a full time CM. And for all his immense quality, playing him deep creates an imbalanced midfield which is easily overloaded and overrun on defence.

Ederson or similar should be an absolute priority.

Also a question of balance - Bruno, Kobbie and Case (now that his legs have gone) are effectively all competing for one ‘playmaker’ spot and leaving Ugarte - who isn’t wildly suited to the role - as the lone/sole ‘athletic’ spot. Urgently needs reinforcement.

Yea, Bruno as a deeper playmaker gives us lots of options going forward but his CM play is - as you say - also a liability at times. Covering for him requires a rapid partner that can get up and down the pitch.

Cunha - Sesko - Mbeumo is a helluva forward line but without a new midfielder we are going to continue to get slaughtered on defence (particularly in transition)

Yea, I was saying similar yesterday - The Athletic have said his book value is €45m so if we sold him for £30m it would make our bad PSR situation immediately worse.

Would be far better to loan him out and sell him for once we’ve amortised an additional year.

With the PSR/FFP pressure there’s zero chance we sell for an accounting knock like that, sell on or no. Loan with option gives us the chance to amortise an additional year and make it work.
