Happy Mother's Day to all those with mothers, those who are mothers to human and non-human children, and those who are filling a motherly role in the life of someone they love.

Just applied for membership in the American Association of Veterinary Chaplains. Hope to someday include pet chaplaincy and bereavement support in how I can support people and maybe even make a living from it.

Finally filed my taxes today. Wonder if the AI bot that replaces the IRS workers will actually process it?

Being companion to my g’pa this weekend while my parents are out of town. He goes to bed after the 11p news. I usually go to bed by 10:30p the latest. And now, after helping him get ready for bed I’ve hit my second wind. Guessing it will be 2am before I go to sleep now. He’s worth it.

Proud of myself for asking my landlord, who seems like a good guy, if there was any wiggle room in the proposed rent increase. Been over 5% the last two year. He dropped it to a 4% increase (COLA is 3% locally). Every little bit helps when you are renting in Massachusetts.

Just made my last tuition payment for my Interfaith Chaplancy certification. In the middle of my last class with The Chaplaincy Institute. Sometime this summer will be my Core Competencies reflections and panel. Then ordination and endorsement in October.

Democracy may be over, but in this political hellscape I found affordable tickets to see @taylortomlinson.bsky.social in Boston next month. Taking myself out on the town.

Finally pulled the plug and deactivated Twitter. It was time.

Reading about different process thought/theology philosophers and realizing that I am not meant to be a philosopher. My brain just doesn’t work that way.

This has been a long week. Take care of yourselves out there. I’m taking tomorrow off and am in bed before 8pm.

He’s Persian. I adopted him back in 2022, when he was 6, from an elderly couple who couldn’t take care of him anymore. His pug nose makes it hard for him to keep up grooming when his hair gets long. And he gives himself mats just from scratching an itch. So he gets the lion cut 4 times a year.
