Look, I just need to point out that all country music that I like somehow doesn't count as country music. It's a mystery really.

Yeah, you barely even hear guys like Willie on country radio, let alone anything new that's not slop, with a few outliers.

But sometimes I also feel like I could listen to about 5 bands and nothing else forever and be happy so who knows.

Oh that sounds cool. I'll have to check it out. I genuinely listen to a bit of everything but of course there are some genres I haven't managed to crack, or ones I rarely revisit. I love the variety and am glad I live in a time when I can hear so much of it!

I feel like I've learned a lot from watching professional musicians do their thing on youtube. The way these people who operate at a level most of us could never hope to achieve talk about music that I would drag endlessly has produced a touch of humility. Not that I want to listen to it all but.

Not gonna shame anyone but this is the most shallow understanding of the country music genre I can imagine. Even Ray Charles disagrees.
