I think they are trying too hard to make Julia’s experience match her daughter’s. I was excited for a fresh storyline, independent of the books, to be surprised by… not horrified by! 🙈

I will be legit angry if they adopt Willie and he becomes both Claire's biological brother and Jamie's adopted brother. Like can we stop with the blending of their worlds THIS MUCH. Also, then the baby she is carrying would have to die because Jenny is not that close in age to them.

Yes! There is no need for him to keep it from him. He has said Murtagh is more like a brother than a cousin to him, and I don't think he is keeping it from him to spare his feelings. I don't get the sense that he thinks Murtagh would betray him. I ADORE Brian, but it feels callous.

It also did Brian no favors in my book when he mocked Murtagh for having feelings for Ellen when he never spoke with her. I was like dude, you should understand better than anyone!😂

Agree 100%! Even if they wanted to have them fall in love at the Gathering over the course of one day/night, they could have drafted an episode akin to "The Wedding" where it was focused almost entirely on their conversations and them getting to know each other. We'd have fallen in love with THEM.

And they will argue it was REALISTIC for the time period. Claire also doesn't shave under her arms in the books, and that is what she actually shaves instead of her "honeypot" in Book 2, but we don't need CMB walking around with hairy underpits for authenticity. 🤣

Yes! A choice for sure. Choices were made in S5 when they made Claire's rape so much worse than the book, and I would argue they made Jamie's rape worse than the book too, based on how they filmed it vs, the book's version of Jamie being saved and then telling Claire what happened to him.

Yes! They have a beautiful story of their own. They have their own ordeals to deal with in the WW1 era. It was no picnic for women then. Julia can't even vote. I am fine with them going to 1700s Scotland, but must she suffer the same as her daughter? Separation, SA, accusations of witchery, etc.

Yes, I would love to see both of them mention trying to get back to Claire. Even though I know that they’re trying to find each other, it feels like Julia is trying to find Henry there when she shouldn’t even know he’s THERE?

Right? We know Lord Lovat is a piece of 💩. Of course, Brian was born out of rape... we didn't need to see it twice! And then have Brian get mad at Julia (although briefly) for having a "fling with Da"... I don't think so!

He just told Ellen (in their first real conversation) that his father is even worse than others outside the house know. Anyway, just have to get the thoughts down, don't mind my rants as I still process this episode! 😀

He knows how terrible his father is. Why would he be surprised/mad for one second at Julia for being pregnant with his father's child? She literally is a slave in his father's house, the house he himself was born into as a "bastard." No way he thought he was born out of love and consent.

I adore the Brian and Julia's friendship! It is one highlight of the show. But I feel like it is doing a disservice to Brian and Ellen's story. Jamie's parents' love story is referenced all the time in the books. Their bond is so strong. Show that development! I feel like Brian acted dumb in Ep 6.

Fine, they went back to 1700s Scotland, ok can deal with that, and we know they will never end up with Claire, fine, we have always known that with OL, but her mom being another family member SAed? We got Jamie, Claire, Bree, Fergus, all in the immediate family, already. We didn't need this.

I am still loving BomB and not going to give up on it, but I am getting more annoyed with it! I don't know why we have to have Claire's family tortured by Jamie's terrible relatives and connections in the past. I thought at first when we'd get them on the show, we'd see their own love story...

Yes, she HAS to be for B and E's story to make sense. You have me scared, though. It won't make any sense, but I am not sure it will stop them. 😭😂

If they make Ellen and Brian's first-born be adopted and be Claire's brother, I will riot in the streets.

I didn’t feel it was realistic that Brian would be mad that Julia had “gotten pregnant” by his father. He himself was fathered by him and a “bastard” and he knows his dad is ruthless and has his way with women. I didn’t think he’d think for one minute he was born out of love.

Yes, love the actors and their performances! Love certain storylines. Baffled on wasting time on scenes that they must know audiences will hate and do nothing for advancing the story.

Ugh. He has made choices with SA scenes in OL that are even worse than DG’s source material, and it’s infuriating. I feel like an idiot thinking he’d handle it differently with BomB. 🫣
