I think the wrestling match I've watched the most is that pervert epic between Daisuke Sasaki and Danshoku Dino at Peter Pan 2018.

How many times have I watched films I do love? More! Except for Sátántangó. I rarely have the time and fortitude to rewatch that.

It sure does! (That's a sweet one to get stuck on, though.)

I saw Titanic in theatres six times because my grandmother loved DiCaprio and she'd buy me pop and snacks if I went with her. I've watched it six thousand times more with my dad because he remembers I love the Titanic but not that I hate that fucking movie.

"Movies you've watched more than six times" means nothing to me. I'm autistic and I've had multiple close loved ones with dementia. I've seen Forsaken starring the Sutherlands like 304583490584 times because someone left it in my dad's room and that was all he would put on for six months.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the doc and have deemed it unintentional autistic culture for reasons I'll try to explain in longer form prose some time this coming week.

I did see that, but they’re calling everyone autistic!

There are a lot of things that various characters in Heated Rivalry do that the internet is very eager to label as autistic. But many of these behaviours could more accurately be ascribed to Being A Hockey Player.

That was so exciting! (And I love how the middle of our taste Venn diagram just keeps growing.)

I was always fond of Matthew Lillard. (SLC Punk was formative for me.) Then I interviewed him. Now I’m borderline ride or die for the man.

The Bones of St. Nicholas is underrated, too. Really clever little romp.

Aaron praised the hockey banter in Heated Rivalry. Later, he told me that his team were discussing which of their favorite musical artists sound like MRI machines. I’m not sure he has a solid understanding of normal hockey bants at this point in his life and rec hockey career.

I guess my issue is that I don't understand how many people currently seem content to shut the whole conversation down and leave it at "some people are closeted and it's illegal to ask, so shut up about it."

Those are similar to my reasons for having no black and white opinion on queer roles. (And also part of why I don't have an issue with the gayness of some of the wrestling I watch. I assume there's a certain degree of don't as don't tell going on there.) But yes, stakes matter.

And again, I feel the same. I struggled a lot before I was finally diagnosed. I still struggle now, often for reasons related to those pre-diagnosis struggles. But I know that the kind of "help" that would have been available to me back then would have broken me. Maybe worse.

Friends, where (if anywhere) are we finding the best writing on autism and sexuality these days?

I feel the same way. For the same reasons.

The "harmful stereotypes" these influencers go on and on and on about are like three days old.

The other thing that pisses me off about this is that, until very recently, 99% of people would have said "you don't look autistic to the girls who looked like the imagine on the right. And I think the majority of people would still say that!
