Our work at OpenDoors was in the NYT today! It is so critical that institutions put resources behind researching GLP-1 treatment for addiction and increasing access. This can potentially both save lives and transform the way our society responds to addiction.

This service is a 'lifeline' for RI people with disabilities. Now, it's on the chopping block. The RIde paratransit provides door-to-door service for people with disabilities. But it's threatened by RIPTA's $32 million fiscal shortfall.

"It would be devastating," said Christopher Bove, who is legally blind, “It's really easy to eliminate service when you never think you'll need it, but no one ever expects to become blind or disabled."

Paratransit is a lifeline, now in peril due to RIPTA’s fiscal cliff.

Can GLP-1s reduce crime? We are planning a study to find out. A support plus GLP-1 study that confronts the cycle of addiction and incarceration amongst women.

Here's my essay about our project at OpenDoors to try to prove that our programs can disrupt the cycle of addiction and incarceration for women. The goal is to combine our Federal Department of Justice grant with a trial that tests the ability for Ozempic-like medication to treat addiction.

We received a $715,000, three year grant from the Department of Justice to expand our services supporting women coming out of prison. We are so excited! @opendoorsri.bsky.social
