How many of these buildings can you recognise today?

This is the eastern end of Broad Street in Reading, taken between 1903 and 1920. You can see the Market Arcade entrance, an electric tram and George Palmer's statue (now at Palmer Park).

We agree, it's one of our favourites. It's just stunning, it featured in the Ashmolean's Last Supper in Pompeii exhibition as one of best pieces of Roman glass.

I hope you'll find room to showcase this amazing polychrome glass bowl. It was an absolute highlight for me when I visited in 2023.

Thanks @benpaites.bsky.social, we agree the biggest problem will be choosing which objects to include and what stories to tell (there are 26,000 objects in the Silchester Collection!), but a nice problem to have 😀🏺
