NHS trusts declare critical incidents over high demand NHS trusts in Surrey, Kent and Sussex cite increased flu and norovirus cases, and staff sickness.

This week’s critical incidents in SE trusts underline a long‑warning signal: the medical workforce is stretched past safe limits.

SAS six infographic, featuring the six asks to make a SAS career a viable alternative. Every early career SAS doctor should have access to an educational supervisor. All SAS doctors should have equity of access to professional development opportunities relevant to their stage of career. All specialty doctors who meet the required capabilities should have the opportunity to become specialists. Senior SAS doctors should be offered the opportunity to be educators at every level on a par with consultants e.g. educational supervisors, clinical supervisors, directors of medical education. All extended roles in leadership and management should be open to all substantive medical staff that is, consultants and appropriately experienced SAS doctors. All LEDs employed for more than two years within one NHS employer should be offered the opportunity to transfer to the appropriate SAS contract.

Here's a list of NHS trusts which have put up hospital parking charges in past two years All the NHS trusts where parking charges have increased over the past two years to March 2024, according to Freedom of Information data obtained by the Press Association.

Far too many South East Trusts have hiked up their parking charges.
This is bad for patients and staff!

At one SE Trust BMA reps secured rates at 98% of the old BMA rate card for consultants & autonomous SAS.
