Most important; don’t get anything with nuts. Caught a flight last week where a passenger was severely but allergic and we had three warnings not to open anything with nuts in during the flight. Very happy to (don’t want to make anyone ill!) but I had to check my M&S salad twice…

Ah, I get what you mean. But homelessness here is about systemic underfunding of affordable social housing for *generations* not a sudden choice. If you’re buying into that rhetoric, this is just the current iteration of “unfair”, not the root cause.

Tbh immigration where I live is not the issue; it’s not “those people” who are causing homelessness or lack of jobs in rural devon and Cornwall. But the perception it is… well that’s frankly terrifying.

What do you think we should do? What are our lessons to be learnt?
For me, it’s about creating community, creating networks, empowering people with knowledge and skills…

Fund education, including adult education - again it’s not an “add-on” it’s a fundamental component of civilised society. We should never “have had enough of experts”

Whilst tackling all those issues
5. Fund the BBC properly; and make it properly editorially independent: bring back local/regional services
6. Create community; SureStart; drop-in community hubs; fund libraries
These are not optional, nice-to-have - these should be core business. Belonging matters.

My thinking;
1. Face the problem, don’t hide/ignore it
2. Celebrate what we do have in a fabulous, diverse, multicultural UK
3. Listen to what’s wrong; lack of affordable secure housing, costs of care, equitable access to healthcare…

Thing about childcare costs, is that for most families they are transient - so you don’t necessarily realise you’ve got it better than someone did previously, if that makes sense

Hmmm. They don’t care until they need healthcare or social care - at which point they suddenly realise how important it is - and can either react with enormous gratitude - or be massively angry at the state of a system in crisis.

Tbf, i think women tend to get unsolicited DMs in a way that makes me worry about vulnerable teens, because that interaction is targeted in a way that public content (normally) isn’t.
So, I think it’s not unreasonable given the context
